Sony HDR-CX100 for Hand-Cam more>>There was plenty of hype surrounding the CX100 well before its release date however no-one could have anticipated just how well it took off amongst skydivers world wide. Naturally we were eager to get our hands on one so we could develop a glove to suit. We were fortunate to have one of our regular customers, who is also a Tandem Instructor, oblige soon after they were released and we set about making the new glove design. As is often the case in the design process, it didn't take long to come across a small bump in the road! The CX100 is not really suitable as a skydiving camera without a Hypeye D Pro, which until now we had found quite bulky and impractical. Naturally, that didn't hold us up at all and we very quickly found an effective way to mount the Hypeye and have continued to refine it.

When we were finally able to release the glove, it took very little time for the orders to start rolling in and they have yet to let up! We are very pleased with the final product and it would seem that we aren't the only ones. In the short time our CX100 Hand-Cam glove has been on the market we have had excellent feed back from Tandem instructors WORLD WIDE!! |

SkyHook RSL! |

Many people have heard about the SkyHook but how many people really understand what it is and what it does? 20 years in the making, the brainchild of UPT owner & president Bill Booth, the skyhook is the latest safety innovation in skydiving and as such has and is being picked up by other renowned Container manufacturers. A regular RSL is limited to pulling the reserve pin on your container, which whilst mostly being beneficial, does come with its own new set of risks and potential complications. |

The Skyhook RSL goes even further in two ways. First of all, in the situation where the RSL riser is released prematurely, the opposite riser is automatically released through the use of a component known as a “Collins Lanyard”. This prevents the reserve being released into a still partially connected canopy. Secondly, in most situations, the main parachute acts as a pilot chute for the reserve canopy, bringing it to line stretch in as little as half a second! How do I get a SkyHook RSL on my gear?For owners of a Vector 3 Parachute system, the SkyHook can be retrofitted however it needs to be sent to the factory do so. The other alternative for those wanting to use this system is to buy a brand new rig. The following manufacturers have the SkyHook RSL available as an option on new gear:

Territory Rel Week 2009Well it’s been and gone but will definitely not be forgotten! It was a privilege for Way Cool to be a part of such a fantastic boogie. With over 170 registrations as well as a large number of non skydivers at the Drop Zone for the Boogie, it was a great atmosphere and vibe around for the duration. There was plenty happening with tube jumps, inflatable jumps, B-Rels, AFF and much more. Fiona and Stretch made the most of the people and the planes with constant Star Crests and Formation loads all week. 18(I think!) skydivers completed their first wingsuit flight under the guidance of
Hayden and the Atmonauti jumps definitely seemed to be the flavour of the boogie, much to the delight of load organisers Dingo and Pony! There was even a 32 way formation load Atmonauti for a new Sky Surfer record!!! After hours, the beer (and otherwise) was flowing as people watched the excellent day tapes and got up to all sorts of after hours antics, though as we know, what happens at the boogie stays at the boogie!!! It was great to see a wide range of jumpers win our sponsorship prizes which varied from stubby coolers and goggles to a free Way Cool lens and a discounted PD canopy!
