The OPTIK ILLUSION is the latest addition to the BoneHead family of camera helmets.

BoneHead have taken the proven stability and design of the original OPTIK and made it even more versatile with its larger top mounting surface area, redesigned left side camera mounting space and a cleaner, more refined internal audible cavity.

All of this aside... the most noticeable improvement on the original OPTIK is the double secure Jaw-Bone closure.... which is very similar to the way that a FLAT-TOP PRO closes in the back... but the OPTIK ILLUSION utilizes the technology in the front for more camera stability in an open-face style camera helmet. Closing the Jaw-Bone is quick and easy and is fortified with dual ladder strap locks for added security against bumps, 3-ring pops and riser strikes. We have also included as a standard feature BH's jump-tested cut-away handle and assembly... just in case!

Whether you mount your camera on the top or the side or both, the OPTIK ILLUSION is a great camera helmet setup regardless of what flying position you are in! The OPTIK ILLUSION comes standard with BH's ingenious Thermal-Fit liner and cut-away assembly. The only things the OPTIK ILLUSION doesn't come with is your creativity, D-Box and cameras!

  This chart is only a guide. Some people may have a unique head shape changing what size they need. Some helmets fit different shaped heads better than others. The ingenious Thermal-Fit liner does help to get a great fit though!

  Helmet Measuring Guide On most Bonehead helmets, the only dimensions you need to measure is your head circumference as shown below, just below where you would normally wear a hat or head band.

  DISCLAIMER FOR HELMET PURCHASES -- PLEASE READ -- Way Cool will do its best to help you choose the right size helmet, but the customer is responsible for all shipping charges on returns if the helmet is too large or small. Returns will only be accepted if the helmet has not been jumped and is still in new condition. Custom Painted Helmets are not returnable for any reason! Be very sure of sizing before ordering any custom helmet. It is always better if you demo a helmet for fit and size before you purchase.

We now only ship helmets in protective boxes to prevent damage. Boxed helmets have a large shipping weight by volume and this website cannot use normal shipping calculations to calculate volumetric weight. Helmets cannot be shipped in air bags.

When adding a helmet to your shopping cart you can only select between Road and Air freight. Air freight for boxes is expensive, pricing is highly dependent on destination and only an estimate is given in the air option.
